Authentication is a structured examination of the physical piece, its construction and its context. It is not a serial-number lookup or a verdict based on one photograph.

EncoreLuxe first uses submitted photographs and information to decide whether an item fits current buying criteria and whether additional detail is needed. That remote review is preliminary. Before purchase, the physical item must be examined and found consistent with the identity and condition described.
The examination varies by category and model. Construction, material, dimensions, signatures, hardware, movement, stones, hallmarks, labels and production-era details may all contribute. A convincing serial number, receipt, box or authentication card cannot override contradictions in the item itself.

Read construction
Proportions, tolerances, stitching, settings, finishing, movement components and assembly are assessed for internal consistency.
Examine markings
Signatures, fonts, hallmarks, reference and serial formats are considered in context rather than treated as a database pass or fail.
Review provenance
Receipts, certificates, service history and ownership information can support the account but are not accepted as proof on their own.
Why photograph-only checks have limits
Useful photographs can reveal an incorrect silhouette, mismatched marking or condition issue, but they can also hide weight, texture, movement construction, altered components and repairs. Lighting, compression and filters change colour and surface detail. Remote information can support triage, not replace physical examination before purchase.
Provide unfiltered images in indirect daylight and include the entire item before close-ups. For privacy, do not publish complete serial numbers. EncoreLuxe requests sensitive detail privately when it is genuinely needed.
Authentication differs by category
A watch review may involve reference configuration, dial, hands, case, bracelet, movement, serial conventions and evidence of replacement parts. A handbag review emphasises silhouette, material, construction, glazing, stitching, lining, hardware and production-era identifiers. Jewellery can require hallmarks, maker signatures, metal, stone characteristics, settings and dimensions.
Fashion and footwear depend on collection context, fabric, pattern alignment, labels, construction, hardware and evidence of alteration. Because counterfeit techniques change, a memorised checklist should never be presented as a guarantee.
Scope and outcome
This process supports EncoreLuxe purchase decisions. Unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing, it is not advertised as a standalone authentication certificate for use in a marketplace dispute, insurance claim or legal proceeding.
If the physical item cannot be authenticated or materially differs from the submission, EncoreLuxe does not complete the purchase. The owner is told the next step under the agreed handover terms; responsible review avoids dramatic claims that cannot be supported.
