Designer accessories are among the most frequently counterfeited luxury goods, and they are also among the most practical to buy pre-owned. That combination means condition, completeness and authenticity details matter a great deal. An Hermès H belt, a Louis Vuitton cardholder or a Chanel pair of sunglasses is assessed with the same care as a larger piece from the same house.

Small leather goods
Wallets, cardholders, key pouches and pocket organisers are reviewed for corners, edges, interior slots, stitching and date codes or blind stamps.
Silk scarves
Hermès carrés and other silk pieces are considered for design, colourway, hand-rolled hems, care labels, pulls, stains and fading.
Designer sunglasses
Chanel, Dior and Cartier eyewear is reviewed for frame and lens condition, hinge function, temple markings and the original case.
Designer belts: buckles, straps and sizing
The Hermès H belt is often sold as a reversible strap with an interchangeable buckle, so tell us whether you have the buckle, the strap or both, and photograph the stamps on the reverse of the strap and the underside of the buckle. For Gucci GG and Louis Vuitton Initiales belts, show the buckle face and back, the full strap on both sides, the size marking and any heat stamp or date code.
Wear usually concentrates around the most used hole, the buckle fold and the tip of the strap. Scratches on plated or palladium hardware, cracked edge paint and stretched holes are recorded honestly. A belt that has been shortened or had extra holes punched can still be considered; please mention any alterations.
Wallets, cardholders and small leather goods
Compact wallets, cardholders, key holders, coin purses and pocket organisers are popular with resale buyers because they are wearable every day. Houses such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermès, Goyard, Bottega Veneta and Saint Laurent are especially well known in this category. We review the leather or canvas, corners, edges, zip function, interior card slots, and internal marks such as date codes, blind stamps or serial stickers.
Photograph the front, back, each edge, the interior and every identifying stamp. Include the dust bag, box and any authenticity card or receipt, but remember that cards and receipts are supporting evidence only. Heavy discolouration inside card slots and cracked glazing are common signs of use and should be shown clearly.
Hermès carrés and silk scarves
Hermès silk carrés are produced in many named designs and colourways, with the design name and artist’s signature often printed within the scarf. Traditional carrés have hand-rolled hems, and a care label is usually present. Photograph the full scarf laid flat in daylight, a close-up of the signature and the hem, and any label, box or ribbon you have kept.
Silk is delicate, so pulls, small holes, perfume or make-up marks, sun fading and creasing all affect condition. Please do not attempt to wash or iron a scarf before enquiring. Other silk from houses such as Chanel, Dior, Gucci and Louis Vuitton can also be considered where the design and condition suit current demand.
Designer sunglasses and eyewear
Sunglasses from Chanel, Dior and Cartier are assessed for frame structure, lens scratches, hinge tension, nose pads and any decorative elements such as quilting, pearls or signature logos. The inside of the temples usually carries model, colour and size references alongside the house name. Cartier eyewear, particularly with precious-metal finishes or wooden details, is reviewed for finish and originality.
The original case, cloth, box and paperwork help complete the set. Prescription lenses fitted into designer frames change how a pair can be resold, so please mention whether lenses are original. Frames with broken hinges or deep lens scratches can still be submitted for an honest assessment.
